Team Cheat Sheet: Calgary Flames

The fast rundown for draft planning. DND = Do Not Draft

Calgary Flames:

Amonte, Tony RW - FA match up only. DND

Aucoin, Adrian D - :UPDATE: Acquired from Chicago: He could be a deadly combo on the PP with Phaneuf. He had his best success under Keenan in the past. Needs to stay healthy, injury is a big risk here. Don't take too high, but he is a solid sleeper pick.

Boyd, Dustin C - He has unlimited offensive skill, but will he learn to use it at the NHL level? We will see next year as he should get a real chance to prove himself. Could be a good keeper option. He could also ruin the value of all other Calgary centers if he earns the #1 slot.

Conroy, Craig C - Worth a stab in late rounds of deep pools in case he plays well with Iggy next year. Gamble pick.

Eriksson, Andres D - UPDATE He is a good match up for assists. DND

Friesen, Jeff LW - 12 pts last season. enough said. DND

Godard, Eric RW - He could offer a PIM match up option. DND

Hale, David D - No foreseeable fantasy value. DND

Huselius, Kristian LW/RW - :UPDATE: Might not mix well with Keenan as coach!:A good example of why not to give up on young talent. Could see a slight drop in production due to the pressure of "doing it again" but a solid LW option.

Iginla, Jarome RW - :UPDATE: Signed a contract extenssion: He is a beast. His PIMs dropped a lot last season but they should come back up.

Irving, Leland G - He is the kid that might make Kipper expendable, but he is still very young and will have to have a huge year of developing to make management move Kipper. Good farm team grab or keeper option if looking to rebuild in net for 2-3 years down the road.

Kiprusoff, Miikka G - They don't get much better in fantasy. If he leaves Calgary next season or the year after as a UFA will he be as good? Keeper beware. Great for all goalie formats.

Langkow, Daymond C - He saw a huge jump in production last season, I expect him to come back down next year. Don't overreach for him.

Lombardi, Matthew C - 46 pts, 48 PIMs last season. Nothing worth a draft, however talent scouts say he has Briere type ability and just needs to break out. Keep an eye on him. Has been a source of trade rumors. He could really bloom in a new setting.

McCarty, Darren RW - Look for him to retire. DND

Moss, David LW - Showed some goal scoring ability last season. Not worth a draft but worth keeping an eye on. His value could bloom if he gets the right line mates and ice time.

Nilson, Marcus LW - Its safe to say this kid will never live up to his draft hype. Of course he could always go Brian Rolston on us! DND

Nolan, Owen RW - UPDATE He can still get great PIMs and near 20 goals. Not sure how he fits in Calgary. Keep an eye on him.

Phaneuf, Dion D - A monster. A must draft in all pools. Great Keeper.

Primeau, Wayne C - A match up play from your FA list only. Gets good PIMs and SOG. DND

Regehr, Richie D - A young guy that has good offensive upside. He had 2pts in 6 games last season. He could fill the hole of Hamrlik if Hammer leaves.

Regehr, Robyn D - Nothing flashy but with 21pts, +27 and 75PIMs last season he is a solid option. Never gets a load of SOG.

Ritchie, Byron C - Match up play only. DND

Sarich, Corey D - UPDATE No value here. DND

Tanguay, Alex LW - Owners in SOG leagues wish he would shoot more, but he is a great option at LW. You can pencil him in for at least a PPG every season.

Warrener, Rhett D - Match up play only. DND

Yelle, Stephane C - Every team needs a Yelle, but not fantasy teams. Match up play. DND

Thats it for now. Check for updates as players sign and prospects move up the food chain.
